For more than two decades, I have had the privilege of dedicating my career to goalkeeper development. During that time, I have worked across virtually every level of the game in this country and have had the opportunity to help develop goalkeepers who progressed to the collegiate, professional and national-team levels.

What I am most proud of is that this work took place within one club, in one city, over the course of my career. It allowed me to experience goalkeeper development as a long-term process—working within an environment designed to support players from their earliest stages through the highest levels of the game. During that span I was able to have a hand in producing 150+ College Keepers, 15 Professionals, 7 Youth National Team Players and 3 Full National Team Keepers. Our system and programming is proven to develop, retain and attract.

Those experiences have reinforced something I strongly believe: every goalkeeper is different, every club is different, and meaningful development requires understanding the individual and the environment around them.

I created the U.S. Goalkeeping Institute to provide an additional resource in that process. USGI is built to work collaboratively with clubs, coaches and goalkeepers—providing individualized evaluation, performance analysis, development planning, resources and support in the areas where they can have the greatest impact.

Our role is not to replace the people already invested in a goalkeeper’s development. Our role is to work alongside them.

Ultimately, I want USGI to help more goalkeepers receive meaningful, individualized development while supporting the coaches and organizations responsible for guiding them.

I don’t want USGI to simply be known for analyzing goalkeepers. I want USGI to be known for helping develop them — in collaboration with the people already invested in their development.

That is the standard we will pursue.
